Changes are coming…

…And change is good!

Friends, I am so excited for the next few months. Tamara The Birth Doula is changing in some really distinct ways. This change is good. It is so powerful, and personally, these changes have been a long time coming. I feel so invigorated by the evolution of my business, but you know what, there are a couple of really important ways my business won’t change at all.

What does that mean?

Well, here’s two major ways my business won’t change.

It will always be women centered. When I started Tamara The Birth Doula three years ago, my heart was for women. I desperately wanted to serve the women in my community, and that drive has been what has motivated me to grow my business ever day since.

Current services won’t change. I will continue to offer birth services, placenta medicine making, and lactation support. I have loved being invited in to families and building these relationships with them. There is no way I am ready to give that up.

So, what will change?

I get to serve more women. Which is the freaking dream, right?! Right now, the way my business is set up, I am only serving mothers in their birthing year. Which has been so beautiful, but it’s not enough for me anymore. I want to serve women who might never have children either because they can’t or because they don’t want to, women who are grandmothers at this point, girls who are just getting their periods and have no idea what is happening to their bodies, and any person in between with a uterus. I have the skills and wisdom, and I want to share that.

New services are coming. In order for me to serve more women, there are some new things in the works. I’ve shared a lot recently about becoming an herbalist and taking classes at Florida School of Holistic Living. I can’t wait to use these skills and plant wisdom towards medicine making for you all. I also have some women’s circles in the works. Not just pregnancy circles, but a charting circle for women who chart their cycles using Fertility Awareness Methods of Birth Control. I am especially excited for these because I can’t wait to get to know more of you. Including those of you who might not need a doula.

My business name will change. Oh, and it’s a really good name coming! I searched for months for something that would encompass the sense of community I want to create and the spirituality that is so important to me. It really radiates everything I have been learning, and experiencing these last three years. Once that new name is revealed, I will share all about why I chose it and what it means to me. With that brand new business name comes a new logo made by Cameron Light. And in order to hold you over for the business name reveal, I am so excited to unveil the beautiful logo to you today!

Isn’t it beautiful? It builds on my original logo, that I loved so much, by adding these beautiful plants and the moon detail in the center. Plants, of course for the plant medicine I will introducing to you, and the moon detail signifying our fertility cycles.

When Cameron asked me for three words to describe my vision for my business, I answered,

Community. I really want women to feel like they have a community of likeminded women who they can call on or they can share with. I really want women to know I am invested in their stories. Holistic. I want to provide women with herbal medicinal support to support their bodies, their wombs, their families, and their fertility. Empowered. I want women to know that they are the authority of their own bodies -even in pregnancy-, their own fertilities, and their own families. I want to teach about informed consent, and rights of refusal to every one of my clients so that they truly understand their authority.”

Change can be scary and unwelcome, but this change is beautiful, and powerful, and motivating. On my 32nd birthday this year, on July 17th, I will launch this long awaited rebrand! Until then, please sign up for my mailing list below. It the best way to stay up to date on what’s happening, and as a thank you, I’m including a coupon code that can be used for any of the new herbal medicines that I’ll be releasing, as well as any of my birth and placenta services!

Tamara Niedermann

hi! i'm tamara, creator and owner of the kindred feminine. i have always known i am at my best when i was in support of the people around me. i surrounded myself with deep connections -- people who i could know and live life with. that desire for deep relationship is what has guided my journey to birth work, herbalism, and supporting the birthing and bleeding people in my community.

six years ago, when my younger sister and her husband started their parenting journey, she started sharing the things she was learning about pregnancy and labor. i watched documentaries with her. i read the books she recommended, and i realized that there was another way to birth your babies. until that point, the idea of home birth and midwives and doulas were sort of a joke. in movies and television they portray midwives as the hippy lady with incense and beads -- which to be fair that midwife exists and now i strive to be worthy of her -- but she's played as a joke. it took these books and documentaries, and new perspectives to show me that midwifery and doulas are legitimate callings, and home birth is a legitimate option.

simultaneous to my birth worker journey, i was coming into a better understanding of my womanhood and i wanted to have more holistic options for interacting with my fertility. so, i transitioned from hormonal birth control to the sympto-thermal method of fertility awareness to track my cycles, and then i switched out my single use menstrual products for reusables. both of these changes gave me a deeper knowledge of my cycles and my body

my growing love for fertility and body literacy combined with my heart for birthing and bleeding people and pregnancy, started me on this incredible journey of learning, and growth, and stewardship of the wisdom that has been passed to me.

the kindred feminine serves all birthing and bleeding people by supporting pregnant people prenatally, attending out of hospital births, and in the postpartum time. tamara teaches bodily autonomy through the fertility awareness method. i processes placentas, and makes herbal preparations including teas, baths, salves, and tinctures and elixirs.

i'm a bisexual cis woman who uses the pronouns she, hers, and her. i’m a newlywed in my early thirties. i'm the daughter of an immigrant single mother. i'm an advocate for fat positivity, body hair acceptance, lgbtq families, body literacy, and bodily autonomy for all people. i'm a birth keeper, and an herb
